Since 1997, Liberty Wines has been bringing exceptional wines to the UK and Ireland’s premium hospitality and retail sectors. As a multi-award-winning wine distributor, we work with over 400 producers across 25 countries and supply some of the industry’s best-known names. Our reputation is built on an exceptional portfolio, strong producer partnerships, and outstanding customer service.

We're passionate about developing future talent and creating opportunities within the wine trade, which is why in 2007 we proudly launched the Liberty Wines’ apprenticeship scheme. Unique in the industry, our two year programme offers a rich and wide-ranging experience across many departments, while also sponsoring the WSET Level 4 Diploma and funding two vintages in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.

Since its launch, the programme has helped shape the careers of many successful wine professionals, and we are proud to now be recruiting our 21st apprentice.

As an apprentice, you'll gain an in-depth understanding of our business, while building the knowledge, skills and industry experience needed for a successful career in wine. Here's what you can expect:

The Programme

• Placements across key teams such as Sales, Brand Management, Customer Services, Trade Marketing, Supply Planning and Operations
• Fully funded study towards the WSET Level 4 Diploma
• International harvest placements in both the northern and southern hemispheres
• Opportunity to represent Liberty Wines at our tastings and events
• Active involvement in our social and charity committee,
• A final six-month placement in a dedicated role with ownership of an associated research project.

About You

We’re looking for someone with a genuine interest in building a career in wine.

You will:

• Be motivated, enthusiastic, with a passion for wine
• Communicate confidently with a range of stakeholders
• Have a continuous improvement mindset, bringing ideas and solutions to current ways of working
• Enjoy working as part of a team
• Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Have strong IT and Microsoft Office skills

You’ll also have:

• WSET Level 3 (completed)
• Some knowledge or experience of the wine trade
• Right to work in the UK

Languages are helpful but not essential.

The apprenticeship is based in our Head Office located in Clapham, Southwest London.
