This is an exciting opportunity for a knowledgeable wine professional to play an important role within a dynamic hospitality group, working alongside experienced teams and contributing to the development of our wine offering across a range of premium venues.
The Role
As Senior Sommelier, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional wine service, supporting the development of our wine programmes, and helping create memorable experiences for our guests.
You will work closely with management and front-of-house teams to ensure wine service standards remain consistently high while supporting training, cellar management, and guest engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional wine service and personalised recommendations to guests.
- Support the development and maintenance of wine lists across the group.
- Collaborate with management and culinary teams on wine pairing opportunities and seasonal menu initiatives.
- Assist in managing wine inventory, stock control, and cellar organisation.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and distributors.
- Support and mentor front-of-house teams through regular wine training and education.
- Stay informed on wine trends, regions, producers, and emerging styles.
- Help drive beverage sales while maintaining excellent guest satisfaction.
- Uphold the highest standards of service, professionalism, and hospitality.
About You
- Previous experience in a Sommelier or Senior Sommelier role within a quality restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of wines, wine regions, grape varieties, and food pairing principles.
- Excellent communication and guest engagement skills.
- A passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A positive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with stock management and cellar operations is advantageous.
Qualifications & Experience
- Wine qualifications or ongoing wine studies are welcomed but not essential.
- A genuine passion for wine and continuous learning is highly valued.
- Hospitality experience and a guest-focused mindset are just as important as formal qualifications.
