When you look at the figures, it’s easy to see why Aldi is making so many headlines. With over 780 stores in the UK, we’re creating more retail space over the coming years than our main rivals combined. Our ambition is to have over 1,200 stores by 2025. But it’s not just our performance and plans that make Aldi such an exciting place to be. It’s the autonomy you get to influence strategy and impact on the business.
We are recruiting for Buying Managers to join the growing Buying Department at our Head Office in Atherstone. As a Buying Manager, you’ll report into the Corporate Buying Director whilst leading a busy team of Corporate Buying Assistants.
Whether you are working with Food or Non-Food products, Wine or Specialbuys you will help to drive sales, profitability and innovation through effective leadership, analytical skills and a passion for products. You’ll be responsible for developing and proposing exciting, relevant and evolving themes, producing timely and accurate business forecasts and plan recommendations for key targets. You’ll also have to identify, assess and monitor additional information and data which could be used in decision making, planning and forecasting for future products.
As the successful candidate you’ll be highly organised with the ability to plan and meet tight deadlines as well as prioritise multiple projects at any one time. You must have previous experience managing a team and demonstrate effective leadership, motivation and people management skills. Experience within a retail environment and buying department is essential for the role as well as strong communication skills and excellent attention to detail. A 2:1 degree as well as GCSEs (or equivalent) in both English and Maths (Grade B is required) are essential to apply.
